Fundrise Alternatives for Investors
The short answer
The best Fundrise alternative depends on why you are leaving. Sponsor marketplaces such as Relli let you choose the sponsor and the property, while EquityMultiple lets you pick offerings, now mostly from one sponsor. Arrived, Concreit or listed REITs suit small amounts or quicker access. Fundrise itself sells only its own funds, open to anyone from $10, with capped quarterly buybacks.
- Fundrise picks everything. It sells only its own funds, which anyone can buy from $10 through its plans (checked Oct 20, 2026).
- Withdrawals come in quarterly windows. Interval funds recently offered to buy back 5% of shares a quarter, filled pro rata if requests run higher.
- Choosing your own deal takes a bigger check. Across 4,172 real estate Form D filings from Oct 2025 to Sep 2026, the median stated minimum was $50,000.
- Two 2026 changes matter. Seven eREITs merged on April 29, 2026, and the Innovation Fund (VCX) listed on the NYSE in March 2026.

Why people switch
What are the alternatives to Fundrise?
The main alternatives to Fundrise are platforms where you choose the sponsor, low-minimum single-manager platforms and listed real estate investment trusts (REITs). The right one depends on why you want to leave. Most people who look elsewhere want one of two things Fundrise is not built for. They want to get money out on their own schedule, or to choose the property and the company that runs it.
Fundrise sells only its own funds, so it picks, manages and values every asset. Its real estate funds return money through capped quarterly buybacks. The options below fit one of those two reasons, or let you keep investing small amounts.
Is Fundrise worth it?
Fundrise can be worth it for investors who want one low-minimum, hands-off real estate fund and can wait for quarterly buybacks. It fits less well if you may need cash quickly or want to pick deals.
As of June 30, 2026, its parent, Rise Companies Corp., reported $3.4 billion of assets under management (AUM) to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It also reported "over 404,000 active investor accounts." Plans start at $10.
Fundrise charges a 0.15% advisory fee, and its real estate funds charge a 0.85% management fee. That is about 1% a year before other fund expenses, according to its fee page (accessed October 20, 2026). The full breakdown is in Relli vs Fundrise.
Getting money out
How long does it take to withdraw from Fundrise?
A Fundrise withdrawal from a real estate fund waits for the next quarterly repurchase offer. A large request may be paid in parts over several quarters.
The Flagship and Income funds are interval funds. Under SEC Rule 23c-3, an interval fund offers to buy back 5% to 25% of its shares at set intervals. Flagship's recent offers were for 5%. When requests exceed the offer, the fund may buy up to 2% more, then fills requests pro rata. The rule also allows a repurchase fee of up to 2%.
Worked example
You ask to sell your whole $20,000 holding. The fund offers to buy back 5% of its shares, and requests that quarter total 20% of its shares.
- Fill rate: 5% offered ÷ 20% requested = 25%.
- Paid now: $20,000 × 25% = $5,000; $15,000 stays in the fund.
- If the fund buys 2% more (7% in total): 7% ÷ 20% = 35%, so $7,000 is paid and $13,000 stays.
You would receive $5,000 to $7,000 this quarter, with the rest still invested.
Two products work differently. The Fundrise eREIT, which seven older eREITs merged into on April 29, 2026, has limited its redemptions. The Innovation Fund (VCX), a venture fund, listed on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2026, so its shares trade in ordinary brokerage accounts. The guide to redemptions and lockups compares these programs. The Groundfloor alternatives guide covers short-term loans, which repay when the loan does.
How is Fundrise different from a REIT?
Fundrise's real estate funds can only be sold back to the fund in its repurchase offers. A listed REIT, by contrast, trades on a stock exchange every business day.
The SEC's bulletin on publicly traded REITs calls them "typically a liquid investment" with real-time prices that move with interest rates. The Fundrise eREIT is a REIT too, but a non-traded one. See how non-traded REITs compare with private deals.

Choosing the deal
Why do accredited investors look beyond Fundrise?
Accredited investors often look beyond Fundrise because their status opens private offerings where they choose the sponsor and the property. Fundrise's own funds do not give that choice.
Relli's analysis of SEC Form D data found 4,172 U.S. real estate offerings filed from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026. Of those, 29.3% used Rule 506(c), which is open only to accredited investors. Among those that set a minimum, the median was $50,000. See the minimums data study and the accredited investor tests.
Fundrise vs investing in syndications directly: what changes?
Investing in a syndication directly means choosing one sponsor's offering, usually with a larger check and no buyback. In exchange, you know what you own and who runs it.
- What you own: a slice of a pooled fund, or a stake in a named property or a sponsor's fund.
- Who you deal with: Fundrise's app, or a sponsor's team you can question before committing.
- Getting out: quarterly offers, or usually nothing until the property sells, often years later.
The guide to investing in syndications directly goes deeper. The guide to acquisition fees, asset management fees and the promote explains how sponsors are paid.
Safety and record
Is Fundrise safe?
Fundrise is run by a registered adviser and a publicly reporting parent, but its funds can fall in value. Registration does not protect you from losses.
Fundrise Advisors, LLC is an SEC-registered investment adviser (CRD 172036), active on October 20, 2026. On August 22, 2023, the SEC settled charges that it paid more than 200 online influencers and newsletters to solicit clients without the disclosures then required. It paid a $250,000 penalty without admitting the findings. Check the record on the SEC's adviser search.
What are Fundrise's pros and cons?
Fundrise's strengths are access and simplicity; its drawbacks are limited liquidity and no say over what you own.
- Pro: anyone can invest, from $10, and Fundrise says it takes "no promote or carried interest."
- Pro: the parent files quarterly reports with the SEC.
- Con: buybacks are quarterly and capped, so large requests can be paid in parts.
- Con: fund expense ratios run about 1.6% to 2.1% a year in total, per the prospectuses.
- Con: not every product is real estate, since VCX is a venture fund.

What should you check before moving money out of Fundrise?

How did we compare these Fundrise alternatives?
Relli compared each platform on October 20, 2026, using its own site and SEC filings first. Registration records from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the SEC came next. We asked who picks the property, who can invest, the minimum, how money comes back and what the investor pays.
Platforms are listed by how directly you choose the sponsor and property, not scored or ranked. No platform paid to be included, and Relli appears with its limits. Relli re-checks these figures when Fundrise files new reports.
